.SYNOPSIS...
Through Thursday, dry and warmer with weaker winds. Cooler for the
weekend with a slight chance of showers, mainly for San Diego
County from the coast to the mountains, with stronger and gusty
west winds for the mountains and deserts. Then dry with warming
and weaker winds for early next week.

COUNTIES...

.SHORT TERM (Today through Friday)...
Through Thursday, there will be dry weather and warming with
weaker winds. High temperatures today will warm 5 to 10 degrees
for inland areas with another few to around 5 degrees of warming
for inland areas on Thursday. With the warming, high temperatures
will still be a few to around 5 degrees below average on Thursday
with Thursday high temperatures ranging from the mid 60s near the
coast to the 70s for the Inland Empire with the lower deserts
mostly in the lower 90s.

The marine layer is still around 3500 to 4000 feet deep with the
most widespread coverage of low clouds on the coastal mountain
slopes. The marine layer is expected to become a little shallower
for Thursday into Friday with night and morning coastal low clouds
extending into portions of the valleys, but mostly not onto the
coastal mountain slopes.

.LONG TERM (Saturday through Tuesday)...
A low pressure system from the northwest moving into the western
states for the weekend will bring cooling, deepening of the marine
layer, and stronger and gusty west winds for the mountains and
deserts. There is also a slight chance of showers for Saturday
night, mainly for San Diego County from the coast to the
mountains.

High temperatures on Sunday will be as much as 12 to 18 degrees
below average for the mountains and inland valleys with Sunday
high temperatures ranging from the lower 60s near the coast to the
60s for the Inland Empire with the lower deserts in the mid 70s
to lower 80s. The marine layer will deepen enough for night and
morning coastal low clouds to extend onto the coastal mountain
slopes for the weekend.

Then dry with a warming trend for early next week with Tuesday
high temperatures around average for the mountains and deserts and
around 4 to 8 degrees above average for the coast and valleys.
High temperatures on Tuesday will range from around 70 near the
coast to the 80s for the Inland Empire with the lower deserts in
the mid to upper 90s.

.AVIATION...
140930Z...Coast/Valleys...BKN to locally SCT low clouds based near
2500-3500 feet MSL with tops to 5000 feet MSL and locally lower cigs
down to 1800 feet MSL this morning. Scatter out 15-17Z. Low clouds
redevelop from south to north after 07Z into early Thursday, with
bases around 1500-2000 feet MSL, not likely reaching KONT.

.Mountains/Deserts...Mostly clear today and tonight. Westerly winds
with gusts 25-40 kts will continue to diminish this morning through
15Z. Localized LLWS or rotors in lee of mountains (such as vcnty
KPSP) along with MOD UDDFS.

.MARINE...
West-northwest winds will continue gusting near 20 knots through
this evening near San Clemente Island. No hazardous marine
conditions are expected today through Saturday. Stronger winds and
higher seas are expected late Saturday into Sunday.
